Free visual inspection and a written scope of work before any mitigation begins - photos, moisture readings, and drying logs go in your claim file
The scope we write is the scope we bill. Anything new gets shown to you, in writing, before we touch it.
Meet the Mission Viejo Team Behind DryMark Restoration Mission Viejo
We’re the crew that shows up when your kitchen’s under an inch of water or a mold test came back positive in your Mission Viejo crawl space. Every person on this page has been background-checked, licensed, and verified before they ever pulled into your driveway. What ties us together isn’t a handbook, it’s The Haven Standard - and the fact that none of us can stand watching a homeowner get blindsided by a bill.
Our People
Alicia Brennan, Owner
I started Back to Dry in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster, and I built this company around the single thing that made me quit that job: the documentation gap that cost regular people their insurance payouts. I’d see a homeowner in Mission Viejo with $40,000 in water damage get offered $12,000 because the restoration crew never logged moisture readings or took dated photos. That’s not a negotiation problem, it’s a documentation problem. I wrote Haven Standard, Clause 1 the week I opened - written price before work starts, no exceptions - because I was tired of watching people sign blank scopes while they were still in shock. I still read every photo record before it goes to an adjuster. My one-liner: I’ve seen enough “mystery moisture” to know that if you didn’t log it, it didn’t happen. My actual concern: your psychrometric chart matches your drying log, your drying log matches your invoice, and your invoice gets paid.
Marcus T., Lead Water Technician
Marcus has been running extraction and drying crews for nine years, and he’s certified in Applied Structural Drying through IICRC. He specializes in hardwood floor rescue using the Injectidry mat system, which pulls moisture through the subfloor without tearing up boards that cost $14 a square foot to replace. Marcus grew up in Lake Forest, so he knows which Mission Viejo neighborhoods built in the 1970s have the original copper lines that fail at the slab entry. His truck always smells slightly of dehumidifier exhaust, and he keeps a laminated card of Spanish moisture terminology for homeowners who prefer it. He once spent four hours explaining vapor pressure differential to a retired engineer in Casta del Sol until they were both satisfied.
Dana K., Senior Mold Remediation Installer
Dana holds her IICRC Mold Remediation certification and has completed tertiary drying training through RIA, which means she can handle the jobs where the first two drying attempts failed and the homeowner is now on their third contractor. She’s the person we send when a Mission Viejo HOA is involved and the board wants every containment photo timestamped. Dana started in construction cleanup in Santa Ana before moving into restoration, so she can tell you whether your wet drywall is Type X fire-rated or standard 1/2-inch and why that changes the removal protocol. She has a rescue pit bull named Bucket who accompanies her to estimate appointments if the homeowner requests it. Her pet peeve: contractors who run air scrubbers without calculating the proper air changes per hour for the cubic footage.
Roberto V., Service Coordinator
Roberto answers the phones that ring at 2 a.m. when a water heater fails in Mission Viejo’s Madrid Del Lago tract, and he’s the one who makes sure Alicia’s photo-documentation standards are met before any crew leaves a job site. He’s been with us since 2017 and knows every adjuster at every major carrier who writes policies in south Orange County. Roberto schedules, coordinates directly with mortgage holders when required, and translates the technical reports our crews generate into plain language for homeowners who just want to know when they can sleep in their bedroom again. He keeps a whiteboard in his office tracking every open job’s documentation status, and he updates it hourly. His background is in medical office administration, which explains why he’s fanatical about complete files.
Jesse P., Restoration Apprentice
Jesse joined us in 2023 after completing the construction technology program at Saddleback College, and he’s working toward his IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician certification while shadowing Marcus on every call type. He runs the moisture mapping on most jobs now, which means he’s the one crawling through your Mission Viejo attic with a thermal camera at 11 p.m. trying to find where the leak originated. Jesse grew up in a house that flooded twice during El Niño years, so he doesn’t rush homeowners who need a minute to process what’s happening. He’s currently obsessed with learning to read psychrometric charts by hand instead of relying on software, which Marcus finds endearing and slightly unnecessary.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with us whether we’re drying a condo in Mission Viejo or coordinating a fire rebuild through our broader California network. Every technician on this page has signed the same clause list that Alicia wrote in 2011: written price before work starts, photo record on every visit, 365-Day Done Right Promise with a signature. We don’t relax the standard because a job is small or because it’s 3 a.m. or because the homeowner doesn’t know to ask. The equipment changes by job - Dri-Eaz dehumidifiers, Phoenix air movers, Injectidry floor mats - but the documentation doesn’t. When Roberto hands your file to an adjuster, it contains what we found, when we found it, how we measured it, and what we did about it. That’s not extra service. That’s Haven Standard, Clause 1 through Clause 7, and it’s the same in Mission Viejo as it is anywhere we work.
